Privacy Policy

LooksOptimizer (“we”, “us”) is a visualization tool that lets you preview cosmetic changes on your own photo. This policy explains what data the service touches, what it deliberately avoids, and your rights. The short version: the free photo preview never sends your photo anywhere, video morphing does send your video to our renderer and deletes it after delivery, and we keep no gallery or database of faces either way.
Your photo (free preview)
Your photo never leaves your device. It is loaded directly in your browser and the entire preview — including the eyebrow fill — is rendered on your device. No account is required and nothing about the image is uploaded.
Only anonymous facial measurements are sent to our server, as described in the next section.
Your video (paid morphing)
Video morphing works differently, and deliberately so: rendering a clip frame by frame needs hardware your browser does not have. When you press Create Video, the clip you choose is uploaded to our storage and rendered on our GPU server. This is the one feature that sends your own footage off your device, it happens only when you explicitly start a render, and it requires an account and a subscription.
Nothing is kept. The uploaded clip is deleted as soon as the render finishes or finally fails, and the finished video is deleted shortly after you download it (and within 24 hours even if you never do). While a render is running, the clip and its frames live only in the rendering machine’s memory — not on a disk, not in a cache, not in a backup — and are erased when the job ends or if it crashes. We do not watch, review, or train on your video.
Deleting your account deletes your jobs and any files still associated with them.
Facial measurements (biometric information)
To compute the preview geometry, your browser derives a set of facial measurements — numeric points describing the position of facial features — from your photo and sends those measurements, along with your selected options, to our server. Depending on where you live, such measurements may be considered biometric information, so we treat them with corresponding care:
They are used solely to compute your preview, processed transiently in memory, never stored, never used to identify you, never combined with other data about you, and never sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties. They are discarded as soon as your preview is computed. We retain no biometric identifiers or templates of any kind. By uploading a photo you consent to this processing.
Usage analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate traffic and site performance. These are cookieless: they do not use cross-site tracking, advertising identifiers, or persistent identifiers tied to you. We also record anonymous product events (for example, which enhancement options are selected) to understand how the tool is used. None of this data includes your photo or your facial measurements. Separately from these, we load advertising pixels — see Advertising below.
Advertising
We advertise this service on X (Twitter), TikTok, and Meta (including Instagram and Facebook), and we load their advertising pixels on every page. These pixels set cookies and use advertising identifiers that can follow you across other sites. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act this is cross-context behavioral advertising, which the law calls “sharing” personal information. We do not receive money for it.
When you upload a photo, we send a conversion event to all three pixels. It carries no photo, no facial measurements, and no information you have typed — it reports only that an upload happened on this site, so that we can tell which ads bring people who use the tool. The timing of that event is itself a signal to X, TikTok, and Meta that you uploaded a photo here.
To opt out: most content and tracking blockers stop these pixels outright, and X, TikTok, and Meta each offer ad personalization controls in your account settings. You can also email us at isaac@looksoptimizer.com to request that we stop sharing your information, and we will honor it.
Technical data
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) generates standard request logs that include IP addresses. We additionally hold IP addresses briefly in memory for rate limiting (abuse prevention); these counters are transient and are not linked to photos or measurements.
Accounts and payment
The photo preview requires no account. An account is required only for video morphing; we store your sign-in identifier, your subscription status, and a record of each video job (its settings and progress, not its contents). Sign-in is handled by Clerk and payment by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
What we don't do
We do not require an account to use the photo preview. We do not use your photos, videos, or measurements to train models. We keep no gallery or browsable history of user images. Our sign-in provider loads on every page and sets cookies even when you are signed out, to hold session state and to protect against automated abuse. We also set a functional cookie that counts your free photo previews; it holds only a count and a date, contains no identifier, and is never linked to your photos or measurements. Apart from those and the advertising pixels described above, we set no cookies and use no third-party tracking.
Service providers
We use Vercel, Inc. for hosting, analytics, and storage of video jobs; Clerk for sign-in; Stripe for payment; our own rendering server for video morphing; and X Corp., TikTok Inc., and Meta Platforms, Inc. for advertising measurement. These providers process data only as described above and only to operate the service. Data is processed in the United States.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU General Data Protection Regulation), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, to opt out of the sharing described under Advertising, and to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. Because we retain no personal data after your session, there is typically nothing held for us to produce or delete — but you can contact us at any time about a privacy request at isaac@looksoptimizer.com.
Children
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. Do not use the service if you are under 18, and do not upload a photo of anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how the service handles data, we will update this policy and revise the date above before the change takes effect.
